We work as a team offering competitive finance facilities to businesses buying vehicles and machinery. We’re the middle man between the customer and the bank or finance company.
I was always taught to listen to customers to find out what they want. I make sure that I give customers realistic time frames and ensure that these are met. A professional approach is key in this industry as well as building good customer relations.
I’ve always liked that it’s our business and there’s no pressure to achieve sales targets for finance and insurance like you get working for a bank. Every day is different and I enjoy working with customers from all types of industries.
I started working in the finance industry in 1995 for NWS Bank who were part of Bank of Scotland. I was selling personal loans over the telephone at first but then soon moved over to their asset finance division. Abbey National approached me in 2000, as they were establishing an asset finance division, however I moved back to Bank of Scotland in 2004 when Abbey National decided they were going to sell off all their non-core businesses, which included asset finance. A year later the directors of Asset Finance Solutions (UK) Ltd approached me to become one of their first brokers and that’s when we established Scollick Business Finance Ltd.

I am responsible for new business opportunities across the North East of England.
I arrange bespoke Asset Finance solutions for my clients which I can tailor make to their circumstances. I work with my customers by handling their business as if it were my own, with care and attention to detail.
My Banking experience enables me to fully understand my clients and their businesses. I am an approachable, friendly and positive person and enjoy interacting with customers and suppliers and as a result builds rapport with all walks of life. I listen attentively to my customer’s needs and keep them at the heart of every decision I make.
Initially what caught my eye were the core values of the business. They seemed to be values that matched my own, within an industry that interested me.
I love the fact that Scollick Business Finance is a small, local company that flourishes from the personal one to one relationship it has with their clients. We know who all of our clients are and that no one gets lost in the system or feels just like a number.
Being the social person that I am, I also love the freedom that comes with my role and that I am able to get out and about and meet with my customer’s.
I’ve recently joined the team from Yorkshire Bank where I worked for 9 years. Over the years I had a variety of roles including managing my own portfolio of high net worth customers in Business & Private Banking to working closely with Business customer’s in Invoice Finance and Asset Finance.
